So I haven't posted in a while because not much has changed for us here in good ol' SoCal. But we have had a couple of pretty neat experiences that we would like to share!
1. I had put in my two week notice at my job because I HATED have to work every sunday! So during this period I was praying and praying to be able to find something that would let me have more time so spend with Brandon and that I wouldn't have to work on Sundays. So later in the week I was at work and my boss said, "Megan, even though you have been here a few short weeks we are really going to miss you and I wish there was something that we could do to get you to stay." So as you can guess I said... THERE IS! You can give me sundays off! And so she did and so I can keep this job that I have that is so close to home and is going to help me pay for school and I don't have to work Sundays... but it gets even better... she is going to give me more weekends off too.. maybe even every weekend since most people want to work weekends cause it's good tip money. I would rather spend time with Brandon.. so it all works out! THANK YOU HEAVENLY FATHER!
2. Most of you know that we have been preparing for adoption and getting all the paperwork finished and we had an appointment set up with LDS Family services and so a couple of saturdays before our appointment we went to the temple to get a final confirmation that we are doing the right thing and that we should pursue adoption. We get into the celestial room and Brandon said that he got the impression that we should wait... and so we left the temple pretty confused. What we are trying to do is a righteous desire so why wouldn't the Lord want us to do it (thats what we were thinking) So since I was still pretty confused about it I went back to the temple on the following wednesday by myself. When I got to the Celestial room I prayed and prayed and Heavenly Father gave me the answer that "It's not time right now... but that he will prepare us when the time is right and we will know what we should do." When I got out of the Temple I called Brandon and he said he had been praying about it while I was in the Temple and that he got the same exact answer! How amazing the Lord is! So the Bishop calls me into his office on Sunday and wanted to know if me and Brandon still wanted him to fill out the paperwork.. because he had had it in his office for quite some time (the part that he was supposed to fill out) and just could never fill it out.. and that he thought we should follow the Lord's prompting and that it wasn't quite time for us yet. WOW!! He then proceeded to talk to me (Brandon was teaching his primary class) and he said he felt prompted to give me a blessing and so he did and it was one of the greatest spiritual blessings I have ever received and that is simply because the Spirit confirmed in my heart that Heavenly Father knows our desires and our hearts and he will bless us when the time is right. How I love the Gospel and the Blessings that it brings into our lives. Even when times are hard we know that we can have peace in our Savior and that is so comforting!
So we are going back to the waiting game as far as starting a family but we are committed to having fun and learning a whole lot along the way. The positive side is that Brandon and I get to spend a lot more time together and get to experience a lot of fun things on our own before the little ones come! How blessed we are!
Meg! I'm so glad you're having amazing experiences!
ReplyDeleteI put my profile in private. I need your email address so I can add you. (probably your gmail one)
Or you'll get pregnant from all that time spent together, ha! I love when the Lord works like that. Funny how he tells everyone the SAME thing! Awesome!
